In Sweden, we have gone through a recycling revolution in the last decades, considering that only 38 % of household waste was recycled in 1975. Today, more than 99% of all household waste is recycled in one way or another.
Not only households but also some companies have voluntarily joined in the struggle, e.g. H&M has begun to accept used clothing from customers in exchange for rebate coupons in an initiative called Garment Collecting.
At the head quarter in Ängelholm, we initiated a more comprehensive work in 2015 when we set our environmental goals and policy for handling waste from production and office areas. We are committed to conducting our business in an environmentally responsible manner, in compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, and in a manner that promotes and protects our associates, customer and members of our local communities worldwide.
In September 2017, we begun an environmental improvement project and already in November we could see the positive effects from the implemented activities - improved recycling stations over the entire company from production all the way to our office areas. Following simple modifications in how we work reduced the waste amount substantially.
We look forward to the continued work here in Ängelholm and are positive that our goals for 2020 are within reach.

A Green Start for HemoCue
A Green Start for HemoCue is the starting point for improved recycling in our offices and common spaces at HemoCue. We truly believe that together we can make a difference and improve our recycling and thereby reduce our residual waste. This is a win-win situation for both the environment and HemoCue.
