External Quality Assessment (EQA)

EQA (External Quality Assessment) schemes provide essential information regarding the precision and accuracy of analytical systems on a regular basis.

(An analytical system comprises the analyser, analytical reagents and, of course, the operator.

All data is collated and entered on the Euro-Trol interactive website before a predetermined deadline. Thereafter summary reports can be downloaded and redistributed to particpants by conventional means or where possible and convenient, reviewed via individually password protected access to the website. Our team will co-ordinate all aspects of the scheme including data acquisition and summary report distribution for all participants who do not have internet access themselves.

This EQA scheme has been originated and developed as a minimal cost additional service for HemoCue users throughout the UK. We trust that you will appreciate the benefits of becoming a subscriber.

The EURO-TROL External Quality Assessment scheme offers you the solution. Every month you will receive an unassayed fresh human whole blood sample for each specified glucose and haemoglobin analyser. The level in each sample will be unique for each month and the patient identical matrix, which is minimally stabilised, is free from"matrix effects" associated with traditional control materials.

Each participant will obtain a detailed program for 12 months with dates on which the samples will arrive and dates on which the results should be communicated to the EQA co-ordinator.

After the deadlines, each participant can define summary reports by accessing the interactive web site. It is possible to define statistical reports using all results or limiting these results to specific analysers.
