Overview

The office in Lake Forest, California. USA.

HemoCue develops, produces and markets medical diagnostic products for point-of-care testing. The fundamental concept behind HemoCue products is to perform point-of-care tests without sacrificing the precision and accuracy offered by a central lab.

HemoCue, Inc., a subsidiary of HemoCue AB, was founded in the United States in 1989.

Reliable Cuvette Technology

In 1974, the two inventors of the HemoCue system, Sven-Erik Nilsson and Jan Lilja started work on the cuvette concept. HemoCue AB was founded in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1982. Our systems are based on reliable cuvette technology, reagent chemistry and analyte-specific instruments. These systems do not require mixing of reagents, dispensing, or pipetting. The instruments are factory calibrated and all cuvettes are produced such that no adjustment for batch-to-batch variation is necessary, and requires minimum training and instrument maintenance. This makes it possible for staff without laboratory training to consistently perform tests yielding accurate results.
